Since passing the bar, Mr. Bernstein has been singularly focused on criminal defense law. He is dedicated to client centered representation: attacking each case from the client’s perspective and keeping their goals first and foremost. Mr. Bernstein prides himself on getting his clients favorable results and always being reachable. He is well versed in fighting for the underdog and isn’t afraid to stand up to police and prosecutors on his client’s behalf. Mr. Bernstein has practiced in more than 50 courts across the state of Michigan and has significant trial experience. He hones in on case details, ensuring anything that can be challenged in the case against his clients will be. Additionally, Mr. Bernstein makes continuing education a priority. He participates in several conferences, seminars, and training courses through the leading organizations in criminal defense: Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys and various bar associations. He has been an active member of his local bar association since 2014 which keeps him up-to-date with the changes in criminal law in Michigan.
Committed to Clients and Education
Mr. Bernstein attended Eastern Michigan University followed by Michigan State University College of Law, graduating in 2011. He passed the bar that same year and immediately went into private practice for criminal defense; he joined Grabel & Associates as an Associate Attorney in 2022. Mr. Bernstein is also licensed to practice in Federal Court and has previously served as the Vice President of the Washtenaw County Bar Association. He was recently elected to serve as the President of the Washtenaw County Bar Association; his term will start in Fall of 2022. Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Bernstein enjoys spending time with his family in addition to playing golf.
